🔒 Privacy policy
Simple and honest. Last updated: October 2026.
The short version
iptools.ca has no advertising, no advertising trackers, and no third-party analytics. We don't sell or share your data. The tools on this site work directly in your browser — your IP address, DNS queries and speed test results stay between you and the relevant services.
Server logs
Like any web server, ours automatically records certain technical information with each visit: date and time, page URL requested, your IP address, browser type and operating system. These logs are kept for a maximum of 30 days for security purposes (detecting attacks or abuse) and are then deleted. They are never shared with third parties.
Each tool in detail
IP address (home page)
Your IP address is detected by making a request to Cloudflare (1.1.1.1/cdn-cgi/trace) directly from your browser. Cloudflare processes this request according to their privacy policy. Approximate geolocation is obtained from ipapi.co. The map is displayed by OpenStreetMap via Leaflet.js. None of this data passes through our servers.
Speed test
The speed test makes requests to Cloudflare's measurement servers (speed.cloudflare.com). Results are displayed only in your browser and are not stored anywhere.
ipconfig analysis
Analysis of your ipconfig output is done entirely in your browser using JavaScript. The text you paste never leaves your device.
DNS lookup and email check
DNS queries are sent directly from your browser to Cloudflare DNS (cloudflare-dns.com) and Google DNS (dns.google) via their DNS over HTTPS (DoH) APIs. The domains you query are handled by these services according to their respective privacy policies. iptools.ca does not see these queries.
For my technician
All information collected on this page (IP address, browser, OS, etc.) is assembled locally in your browser. It is only transmitted if you choose to copy it to your clipboard or send it by email. iptools.ca does not receive this information.
Cookies
iptools.ca does not use tracking, advertising or analytics cookies. The only cookies that may be set are strictly technical ones necessary for the site to function (for example, session security). No consent banner is required because no third-party tracking cookies are used.
